Lakeside

There are few people who would be prepared to argue against the fact that I am a somewhat individual person who is difficult to define or pin down. I have spurts of creativity across the range of photography, music, writing and more. Even the picture to the right was set up by me while in the Lake District.

I am lucky enough to have friends all over the U.K. and a good few in Europe, who have helped me out during the more difficult parts of my life and every now and then I stop to count my blessings.

Interests

My interests are a little varied and include computing for pleasure (even though it is also my career, much to the bemusement of my Mother!) photography, fell walking and also a little driving, keyboard and guitar. I also write fiction and have recently completed a film script.

Career

Computers have remained the main focus of my career, although I have done a few other things to earn a crust, including spending a few years driving light trucks and other vehicles all over Europe. I've spend some time working in a bakery, packing eggs, delivering meals and shopping to the mature population, delivering paint supplies, building plastics and even once a mirror to Planet Hollywood in London. I also got a telephone call at 1am to go to France and collect a truck key that I then had to deliver to Rugby for first thing in the morning.

The computing side of my work has encompased hardware maintenance to board level, programming from assembley language to fourth generation and web systems and even customer support on a tri-lingual helpdesk although I only speak English (don't ask how I got away with that one.)
